Two arrested after child reportedly injured by dog in Waterlooville

A child has been left with two fractures to the arm and lacerations to the face and neck following the incident on Tuesday 14th May.

Police are investigating reports of a child becoming injured during an incident on Tennyson Crescent sometime between 4pm and 4.30pm.

A 40 year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

A 27 year-old woman from Hayling Island has also been arrested but on suspicion of assault/ ill-treat/ neglect/ abadon a child/young person to cause unnecessary suffering/injury.

Officers say enquiries are ongoin to establish the exact circumstances.

They added that residents may notice an increased police presence in the area, while house-to-house enquiries are carried out.
