Police investigating a reported arson at a nursery in Poole have arrested an 11 year-old local boy.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at Sunbeams and Buddies Day Care on Library Road on the 14th of April.
It's reported the play equipment had been set alight and the fire then spread to the side of the building causing significant damage.
A Dorset Police spokesperson issued this statement:
"Officers investigating a suspected arson at a children’s nursery and pre-school in Poole have arrested a local 11-year-old boy.
"At 9.55pm on Sunday 14 April 2019 the fire service was called to reports of flames coming from the playground area at Sunbeams & Buddies Day Care on Library Road.
"It is reported access had been gained to the site and play equipment had been set alight. The fire spread to the side of the building, causing significant damage.
"An 11-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
