Campaigners have been out on the beach in Bournemouth to raise awareness of the damage leaving your rubbish behind can cause.
The group Leave Only Footprints hosted a litter pick yesterday (Wednesday 17th April).
Organiser, Emily Fergusson, has told us why it's important we all do our bit to tackle the problem:
"We do get around 2,000 tonnes of litter every year, which is a huge amount.
"It has a really negative impact on the beach and on the environment as well."
Emily says it's vital people of all ages know to not leave any rubbish behind:
"As we come into the summer, it seems to be the perfect time to remind everyone.
"On these beautiful days on such an amazing beach, we need to make sure we take our litter back with us or put it in a bin."

We asked these people who took part in the clean up why they think it's important to stop people from littering.
