Council Praises Quick Response To WW1 Ordnance Discovery In Winchester

Winchester City Council's thanked all those involved in safely destroying a World War One shell, which was found in the city last week.

It was discovered in the River Itchen on Friday 8th June.

Organisations including The Royal Logistic Corps and Hampshire Police were involved in dealing with the historic ordnance.

A video of the moment the shell was safely detonated by experts has been published by the Council.
