Hartcliffe body identified as missing Martin Brooks

He hadn't been seen since the 18th of December.

DNA tests have confirmed that a body found in Hartcliffe last week is that of Martin Brooks.

Martin, 57, went missing on 18 December when he left a friend’s home in Hartcliffe to go to the shops.

He never returned and was reported missing four days later.

His body was found on Sunday 3 February by specialist officers searching an area of waste ground between Briscoes Avenue, Hawkfield Road and Wroughton Drive.

His family have been informed.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem.
