Elderly man dies in Wallingford collision

An investigation's underway after a man his 80s died in a collision on the A4130 in Wallingford.

Shortly after 11.30am on Wednesday 8th August, a Landrover and HGV tanker were involved in a collision at the junction of Old Icknield Way, near to Oakleywood in Benson.

A man in his 80s from Oxfordshire died in the collision, but driver of the tanker wasn't hurt.

The family of the man who died have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Police have confirmed they've not made any arrests in their investigation so far.

Investigating officer, PC Andrew Harper of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Abingdon, said:

“This collision has sadly resulted in the death of a man, our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

“We are appealing for witnesses to come forward, we would ask anyone who has information regarding this collision to please report online via our website or call 101 quoting reference 43180243732.”
