Police Investigating Chineham Break Ins

Police have launched an investigation, after at least five different cars were broken into in Chineham at various times on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th January 2018.

Officers are urging anyone with any information on what happened on Mayflower Close, Southlands and Minden Close to call 101.

They're also encouraging people to make sure they don't leave valuable personal belongings on show in their vehicles.

We raised concerns with the Police, after many people had taken to a local Facebook group saying their cars had been affected.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said:

"Officers will patrol affected areas in the coming days. Anyone with information on what happened should call police on 101, quoting the relevant reference number.

"We would like to remind people to never leave valuable possessions on show inside a vehicle.

"This makes it much more likely to be targeted by thieves. Even items of little value, such as shopping bags or clothing, may tempt a potential thief to break into the vehicle to see whether they contain anything worth stealing. Keep your possessions out of view, or take them with you."

You can find more advice on how to keep your valuables safe by visiting the Hampshire Police website.
